A day in the life of a wildlife scout
Seeing elephants, buffalo, and other wildlife in Kidepo Valley National Park is a major attraction. However, these animals often wander into community lands, destroying crops and creating conflicts. To address this, KKAKKA Community Wildlife Association has established over 600 scouts in 30 Community Wildlife Scout groups. These volunteers are trained to scare off wildlife and patrol for poacher snares. The scouts need equipment like bangers, noise makers, and first aid kits.
Join us for a day with the scouts, learning about their vital work and the challenges they face. Your participation directly supports their efforts and ensures the protection of both people and wildlife.
